A smart and stylish one-bedroom apartment on the second floor of an imposing Victorian townhouse, less than one minute from Sloane Square in the heart of exclusive Chelsea.

Flat 6 is a self-contained flat forming part of a luxury aparthotel with a lift in a quiet tree lined road in this upmarket area of London. It is newly decorated and furnished in a modern style with the added benefit of stunning views over the grand Victorian street at the front. A short stroll away is the city’s famous Kings Road with its café culture, designer stores and renowned restaurants. The flat benefits from exceptional ceiling heights and large windows making it extremely light and airy.

The entry hall of the apartment is large with plenty of room to store bags, shoes and coats. All apartment rooms lead off from the main entry hall. The grand formal lounge includes a stunning dining area with seating for four positioned by the floor to ceiling windows overlooking the beautiful Victorian street below, a large sofa and chair and a wide flat screen television with all the Freeview channels. A convenient desk area is also available for homeworking. In addition, the lounge contains a concealed alcove with a cosy but luxurious additional sleeping area.

The contemporary kitchen leads off from the lounge with a fridge, microwave and cooker as well as a good range of cooking utensils, pots, pans and crockery perfect for guests wanting to self-cater. The master bedroom contains a UK super king-sized bed, large double wardrobes with full length built-in mirrors as well as a lovely Victoria sash window overlooking the neighbouring gardens. The beautiful, marbled bathroom can be accessed from the entry hall and contains a bathtub with rainfall shower and plenty of storage space.

The apartment is less than two minutes from Sloane Square Underground station on the circle and district lines giving easy access to South Kensington, Victoria and St James Park. Each year Chelsea hosts the world-famous Chelsea Flower Show, The Chelsea Antiques Fair is a popular annual event in Chelsea Town Hall and the Saatchi Gallery is in nearby Duke of York’s Square. Famous locations such as Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park and all the museums of South Kensington are a 15–20-minute walk or a short tube, bus or cab ride away as are the luxury stores Harrods and Harvey Nichols.

    The Belgravia Suite is a clean, spacious, reasonably well-appointed apartment with a non pareil location, literally 50 steps from Sloan Square tube station (which, otoh, is a bit short on escalators and lifts — cumbersome for travelers with luggage). That said, the property has some easily fixable shortcomings to which it is worth alerting the proprietors (as we did at checkout): 1. The living room’s dining/work table is missing multiple leg attachment screws, making it annoyingly if not dangerously wobbly. Don’t fill your teacup too full. Easy to fix, guys. 2. The safe did not work. Therefore, we could not request a table repair visit in our absence. If the safe does indeed work, then more explicit instructions are obviously called for. Which brings us to… 3. Oven use and functions are almost humorously unintuitive. Instruction card needed. 4. Bathroom flannels (wash cloths) would have been welcome. 5. Finally and importantly: THE BATH TUB IS LETHAL to step into and out of, without or even with the missing bath-mat. The nearby floor-standing towel rack suffered from a similar affliction as the dining table — in this case merely loose screws — undoubtedly because guests use it as the only hand-hold available. That shower desperately needs either a wall-mounted grab-bar and a bath mat. Otherwise, the Belgravia Suite is a good value for London self-catering.
