Everything has been tastefully done and is well equipped. The bed was comfortable. I wish I could have stayed longer. Read moreSebastian 28 May, 2025Location: The cottage is about 80 km from Newcastle Airport and sits in the middle of nowhere – which is exactly what makes it so special. Absolute peace and quiet, with no light pollution at night – perfect for stargazing or night photography! Be aware that the road leading to the cottage is more of a country track than a real road – if another car comes your way, things can get a bit adventurous. Just below the cottage there’s a mysterious ruin – possibly former stables or a storage building? Nobody really knows. Bamburgh village is about 2 km away, Bamburgh Castle around 4 km, and the charming seaside town of Seahouses is about 6 km away. The nearest beach is next to the castle, with an affordable parking spot right at the foot of Bamburgh Castle. Facilities: Spotlessly clean – honestly, I’ve never seen such a clean place before! The cottage is equipped with everything you could need – plates, mugs, glasses, etc. The mint green color in the kitchen is… well, let’s say “unique.” There’s a fridge with a small freezer compartment, a ceramic hob, microwave, oven, kettle, and toaster. Wi-Fi and Smart TVs in both the living room and bedroom worked flawlessly. All power outlets have individual switches – don’t forget to bring a UK adapter! The bathroom with shower is on the ground floor – an additional toilet upstairs would’ve been a welcome bonus, though. Final thoughts: This is the perfect place for anyone looking to truly unwind and enjoy nature. I’ll definitely book this cottage again!
