Tanwarpal 01 Aug, 2025While check in time 5pm that is late compared to other accommodations. We got there after 5pm and the room wasn’t ready and cleaning lady was still in there cleaning. It took her another hour until she could change the sheets on the bed and cleaned the place half fast. Things wee very outdated. Showers very old. Half bathroom was almost useless since you can’t even fit on the congested toilet seat. Steps to the apartment were broken and anyone could slip and fall. The cups in the kitchen cupboard were full of dirty water, the pillows and blankets soiled in both rooms and the worst part were the bed bugs. My wife and daughter stayed in the top bed and both still over 10 days later have bites all over their bodies and we are having to spray our home and beds and sofa to prevent another infestation. I have patiently awaited a response from the owners and it has yet to come. This was the worst experience we have ever had renting a short term place. We travel frequently and stay in many Airbnb’s and have never seen or experienced a place quite like this. Narrow roads, sharp bends and difficult to find parking. Not ideal if you have hired a car. We had issues with the boiler, no hot water and repeatedly having to reset. The oven was not working. Was unable to make dinner for 2 nights. Host unable to work out why. In the end we worked out the hobs do not work so changed it ourselves. As soon as we stepped in the apartment, we realized that the wireless was not working. I tried twice if not three times a day to reach out for assistance but nobody cared. We asked for an extra pillow: not delivered. Last day the electricity went down: same story. Be aware once you are in, you are by yourself so cross your fingers. It’s very comfortable and the kitchen and dining room gave us a nice alternative to dining out. The location is perfect. Steps from the beach, centrally located in SML and an 8 min walk to the train station (with short train rides to many nearby towns). The outdoor patio is also beautiful and provided a nice outdoor option for breakfast and dinner. Check in / out was easy with a professional texting us in advance and meeting us in person. We arrived in end of June with heat wave ongoing. I booked this house with air conditioning but to my surprise all the AC were not functioning and apparently all of those went out on the morning of our arrival. There was one portable AC unit in one room that's it. We were family of four and 2 of us had to sleep without air-conditioner. We had to keep windows open because of heat and now we had problems with mosquitoes. Several bites on all of us. And very noisy early in the morning due to fish market right next to the house, not to mention the smell. My daughter has hard time eating breakfast at the apartment. I did not like the apartment and did not like the attitude of the contact person. They are not available after 5. When I asked for repair of AC , she said "thank you for understanding" we don't know when the repairs will be. Bottom line I don't recommend this place to anyone, not even my enemy. Wonderful Italy has a system whereby you basically sign a lease before you can obtain the information about entering the apartment. After many hours we finally got put onto a manager, who implied it was our fault that we had not signed the agreement. We said we had not received it and they insisted that they had sent it several times. We asked for the e-mail address (keeping in mind we had been dealing with them backwards and forwards for days by e-mail and telephone) and they were sending the agreement to an e-mail address that was not ours. Lease agreements have your personal details on them so if this person wanted they had all my private details. Good on you Wonderful Italy and as I said we were made by management to think that it was our fault. Guess what you are responsible for sorting the rubbish and taking it out and they have only one bin and they do not have spares, so you either go out and buy your own bags or use what you can find.
