Our villa was perfect and exactly what we needed to rejuvenate after a long trek around Europe before we headed back to the states. The house was wonderful, has an amazing view of Etna and is furnished with comfy beds and great bathrooms. Our hosts offered lots of great recommendations for things to do, shopping and restaurants. Definitely take advantage of the great kitchen while you stay! She even had basic cooking supplies to help making delicious meals easy. The yard is beautifully maintained and the pool was the perfect temperature and so relaxing. I will definitely stay here again and would recommend this Villa to anyone wanting a central location on the east coast of Sicily for an adventure! Thank you again for a wonderful stay! There are beaches, shopping, hiking, boating, vineyards, restaurants, sight seeing (quaint towns, ancient ruins) -we did all of those things while staying at Casale Buccellato. It is a spacious and elegant place that very comfortably accommodated our visit of our large, extended family group. The serenity of the villa along with a great location for day trips provided a perfect week. Upon our arrival we found provision awaiting us (coffee and espresso for the morning, etc.) to ease us into our stay and the kitchen was well supplied. Our host was there to help with all of our needs, whether tour recommendations, restaurant reservations, or local shopping suggestions. The infinity pool served as our end-of-day relaxation point, with a view of the sea and Mt Etna. It's impossible for pictures alone to do the villa justice. The interior design, the furnishings and the grounds were exactly as in the photos. The owners also generously gave us some delicious fruits and vegetables from their garden and some staples upon our arrival. There were a lot of ants and cobwebs, and the beds are a little hard, but it is to be expected, being such an old villa, located in the countryside. If you are staying more than a week, I suggest booking a cleaning after the first week, along with the linen change. We tried to book once we arrived and unfortunately they couldn't provide the service on short notice. Private feedback : The only reason I didn't give 5 star is the attention to detail (the houses had a lot of cobwebs) and the little things that would have made our stay perfect - ex. soap for the kitchen and powder room, extra toilet paper and extra garbage bags. There are ants in the kitchen (floors and counter tops), spiders on the ceilings, dead flies in the bathroom, and the house is infested with clothes moths. Most of the bedrooms in this home do not have accessible shutters or curtains, which means the bedrooms have sunlight from 6am-9pm. The house was clearly not fully cleaned before we arrived. I will say that the views from the house are spectacular and the surrounding countryside is beautiful. The heated pool is also a really nice feature and our children had a lot of fun with that. But…you can’t get over the face that every room in the house has bugs, the house is dirty, and the furniture is worn and dirty. Also, fyi there is no cellular service in the area and even Wi-Fi calls are very spotty. Ie heating charge 2 weeks before arriving. Also, explanation of the appliances in the villa would have been nice. Lastly, tried pointing out small items such as a drawer not working and Emma tried to blame me. Not sure about Emma Villas as a host but the villa was GREAT for our family. Read more
