Barry 10 Jul, 2025The place is very quaint and authentic. The property has great character! It should be noted that it is about 1 km from restaurants and shopping in Varenna. The walk is easy, or there is a bus. We loved this, but you need to be able to climb uneven steps easily to get to it. In short, if you want to feel like a local in a super cute place, stay here. If you want to be right in the heart of everything, you should stay in Varenna. The company was extremely helpful and gracious to work with. Unfortunately we had mostly rain that prevented us from enjoying the outdoors and patio. The only tricky part was the steep "climb" to the property with luggage. Read moreMARK 06 Oct, 2024The apartment is well appointed with all the necessary items for a long or short stay. The views from the balcony are spectacular. The location of the property is significantly further away from any stores, restaurants, or pathways than we had planned for and it's fortunate that we had a car for the very frequent drives into town. However, parking is very limited and expensive in this area. Multiple taxi drivers declined to take us into town when we made a request, so we committed to driving ourselves everywhere, which was also unplanned and often inconvenient. The downstairs neighbors were somewhat of a distraction as they spent many hours per day smoking weed on their balcony - which made our balcony a lot less attractive. They also had a barking dog and crying baby, so we decided to stay one night at a hotel in the actual village to get a break from the apartment - this came at a significant and unplanned additional cost. The apartment is clean and modern and may be more suited to larger groups/families who plan to eat and stay at the property longer term. It was perfect for two people wanting to explore the general area by taking day trips. It had all the basics and felt great to walk out and be in close proximity to the ferry port, train station and places to eat. Communication was also great and we appreciated the attention from the agency. We recommend this place if you don’t have a “hotel experience” expectation. Read more
